Sounds like your trying to use a 361 (B series engine) flywheel. You can use a 318 fw if it properly drilled (per Mopar Performance Handbook.
Three 1 13/64" holes are drilled .66" deep, 2.5" o/c at a VERY specific location for correct balance. These holes are required due to the 19.79 in. oz. imbalance created by the 360's cast crank.
I have had a couple 360's done here in Central CA. The machine shop had their own drilling pattern using smaller and greater # of holes than Mopar shows. Both engines have run great with no problems with the "shops pattern", so I think any good shop can do same. It is a popular conversion. Also they can be had new, #3410916 from Mopar, I think Summit also carries them.
On the H20 pump. '65-68 'A' engines have inlet on drivers side. '69 up on pass side. Also non A/C pumps have better cooling.
