Gear oil..Royal Purple

Im currently watching Off Road Adventures on the Outdoor Channel. They are upgrading and modifying a Jeep Sahara. And they are really touting Royal Purple for off road stuff.

Has anyone used, or would it be reccomended to use a synthetic for the differential gear oil??
