After a month of figuring out why my 1947 WDX wasn't running well....draining the gas...adding dry gas...changing out the fuel filter....I finally broke down and figured I had to rebuild the carburetor. Only one problem. It's not a Carter carb I find out.
In its original incarnation my WDX was a USFS truck and at some point the government changed out the engine to a 1944 FL6 and the carb to a Holley model 1920. Needless to say it's not a very common carb. After some searching I found a carb kit in Canada and after waiting two weeks for customs I got to rebuild it today.
She runs the best since I bought her! I should have done it earlier.
