speedometer cable 1964ffpw off of 1979 cj7

I have a 79 cj7 frame that had a speedometer cable on it "304 with th 400 automatic trans". so I decided to take it off and see if it would work and sure enough the ends are the same on both. I dont have my cab on yet but it sure looks long enough to go from transfer case through the passenger side and over to the odometer back. I measured the cable and it is 82 inches long. I think most say the cable (factory) is 100 inches, correct me if I'm wrong. It will be a while before I have my cab on so just doing some figuring ahead. Anybody know for sure ??
