I put them in my 230 powered PW and loved the results. I don't really go any faster, but it now will do 50 mph easily at 2500 rpm. I did not change tires however, so you may be pushing the limit. I usually do not have to start in 1st gear, save for being on a hill or something. For me with a non-synchro trans, by the time I get from 1st to 2nd I have just about rolled to a stop anyway.
