I with you Clint. I keep them as long as I can. Your math runs like mine. It is a lot cheaper to keep em and pay more for gas than to buy a new one. All these people who now have a new car payment for the better MPG car are paying a lot more than if they had kept the old lower MPG car.
I just drove my 97 Honda Accord to Reno. I was doing 70 to 75 MPH the whole way. The first fill up I got 37.5+ MPG and the second one was 35 MPG. THe second tank had some in town driving and speeds around 80 for some time . To say the least I was shocked. I usually drive it around town. IT has 160K miles on it at this time. It is a keeper.
