I've tried, but I can't finds a Dodge connection.
It is often the case that you need a foreigner to point out stuff to you about where you live. Dave did this coast-to coast a year and something back and the TV programmes were more than worth watching. Basically he tried to do the whole trip without giving any money to corporate America.
He got good service from all the places he used, and many of the people he met realised the point he was trying to make. I'm not sure if this will air in the US, but if it does - catch it. its now a best-selling book too.
Here's a quote;

My favourite hotel is ...
Dog Bark Park Inn, a Beagle-shaped hotel in Cottonwood, Idaho. It has legs, a nose, ears and a tail - it's big enough for a couple and perhaps their children. There's a room in the belly, a bathroom in the a!"e and a small den in the head where the kids can sleep and it's run by the nicest people. It's surrounded by this incredible prairie landscape.

Apologies for lack of Dodge content.
