Many times, the old timers that use to drive these trucks had a hole in their jeans on the left thigh from holding the wheel.
When my dad worked in a quarry, I would ride with the trucks hauling asphalt and it was always fun to watch the driver shift through both transmissions. Up until we got to our destination and the driver said "I got us here, now you get us back!" I might have been about 12 years old...
