Hi Terry,
I looked at this as a one year paint job. I will sandblast it all off when I do the real resto on it. I just went over it with a DA sander to get the surdace rust smooth and in the few places there was paint tho scuff off the oxydized layer. I did it one panel at a time, cleaned it really well and 2 coats of paint.
I did not use the method that we saw on the internet, just brushed on a coat with a good angle china bristle brush and sanded lightly between coats.
