Interesting that Washington DC is so upset about the decision. They have a terrible drug and gun problem. They are afraid that it will get worse with this ruling.
I take a different view. The problem in DC shows that if you ban or outlaw guns, who do you think will have them. The criminals of course. DC could never stop the influx of gun by the criminals. No matter how tightly you control guns, the people who really want them will get them.
The government needs to go after a very few people to solve the problem. They have a lot of data that shows that guns that are involved in crimes often come from just a few gun dealers in this country. Many do not want you to know that for some reason.
I believe that if you do a crime and you use a gun you get x number of more years tacked on to your time. An there should be no exceptions to that rule. Ten years sounds reasonable to start with. Of course there is the death penalty. Again a small percentage of people commit this crime.
