i have a 6 volt positive ground ffpw . ( note the periods new shades ) the trailer is a 12 volt brake system . leaving me few options to have brakes on it . the gross wieght of trailer and load is 7 tons . trailer is 3 axle , plenty of stoping power . i have to go to 12volt on the pw BUT the wiring on this truck is cherry and dont want to hack it up saay . i have a 1 wire 45 amp delco ,i know to change out the ignition and such over but the wiring at the regulater is where i must make changes . the electrial shop guy says take the live wire off the alt and put it to the key, i say sure way to start a fire i dont want 45 amps at the key any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
