The contact is brief, but does appear to contain some transaction specific content. If an actual parts list was attached, and contained real information, then you might have a real inquiry. Scammers tend to mass-produce their initial contact messages, then try to follow up, but they typically lack specific subject matter knowledge in technical areas because they are scammers and not mechanics.
Beware the forged cashier's check scam. These things *will* clear your local bank, and may take 60 days to turn bad. We have had an outbreak of scams here in Arizona, and the prosectors are now filing criminal charges against the victims who fail to repay the banks (who cleared the checks). Not a good deal.
