Those frames tend to be a mass of rust inside, so I generally take the frame out of the truck, smash the glass out (it's toast anyway) and roast all the joints and screw fittings with a gas torch till they are glowing.
They come apart a lot easier after that, and I dont think I've ever managed to get the two frame sections apart without roating the joint sections.
