I sometimes just get tired of being told I am wrong when I have provided clear proof that I am right. I do not like incorrect info to be out there, and so I sometimes get into heated discussions that I shouldn't have touched to make sure that bad info is not spread.
Dodge did not label things as nicely as we as collectors would have liked. It would be nice if everything was done neatly in order over the years, but in the process of making trucks the wording got a bit messy. I think it had everything to do with trying to increase market share, trying new things, new names, etc to try and get people in to buy trucks.
Now that we can look back over the trucks with 30-70 years of hindsight we are able to see what trucks looked alike and lump them into eras for ease of discussion.
This is a useful thing, and I do it all the time, but it is not what Dodge was doing. They were fighting a sales battle, and yesterday did not matter 1/10th as much as today and tomorrow did.
In any case, that ad was from my personal binder, I will have to see if I have a spare.
Eric
