The engine blocks are basically the same, there are a few differences.. first, the front engine mounting frame from the m-37 must be used as it is offset from center, the exhaust manifold is also unique to the M-37, as is the bell housing,( It is offset too ) also, the m-37 oil pump and distributor must be used as a set as the flat key drive for the distributor is offset from center, where the WDX or civvy engine has a matched set with the drive key centered, you can not mix a civvy with a M-37 type or you will have extreme wear of parts due to the drive key differences. Otherwise only the 24 volt versus 16 or 12 volt items will need to be exchanged. The civvy engine and bell housing are centered on the truck frame, the M-37 is offset approx 1 1/2". Otherwise all should work out fine.
