Dodge was not the only manufacturer offering a '2-ton' 4x4 in the late '50s. International offered 2-ton 4x4s since 1954, in the 140(to ~17K lb gross) and 160(to ~20K lb gross) series trucks that were not conversions but were factory produced with front axles made by IH.
I recently sold a '60 B140 4x4, rated at 11K lb, the lightest rating offered.
