Kaegi, Manitowoc was real proud when in the mid-sixties some of her cranes were purchased by and delivered to a company in Japan. A few years later Japan was producing a cheap dead-ringer knockoff of what they had purchased a few years before. The competition brought the company to its knees. That was the saving grace. When you've got a town full of Catholics and Lutherans on their knees, they come up as the American work-force ready to kick some serious butt. It was a long road, but there has been no turning back since.
I don't know what the company is as an investment opportunity, but I'd lay my life down on the quality of the workers.
