If it were:
- The disk, it would notice it slipping under acceleration.
- The cover, it would make a broke metal hitting something noise.
- The throw out bearing, you would hear grinding noise when pushing on the pedal.
Don't know what you mean by "hard to shift." Do you have to apply a lot of lever force, or are the gears grinding excessively?
Possible causes:
- Low oil level.
- Fatigued clutch fork (starting to crack and doesn’t push the cover fork far enough to release the disk)
- Fatigued linkage levers
