Installing Winch???

I am installing a Mu-2 on my 1951 B-3 PW and i converted it from a 230 to a 251, I bought the correct frame extensions, and the correct rear brace but when i did a test mount the front bar of the winch is a good inch above the extensions. Not sure why? Any help is greatly appreciated.
