I have a Mustang 545 skid loader with a 4 cylinder Perkins diesel. It is a great unit, and does everything I need it to do. I am also increasingly broke these days, and am interested in running this machine on alternative fuels. I do not make a living with the Mustang, but use it for light farm, ranch, and yard use. I have read about people running a percentage of used engine oil, ATF, and the like in their diesel equipment. Does anyone here have any experience doing this? What percentages did/do you use and what problems did you encounter? What did you do to prep. the oil before dumping it in the fuel tank? I generate a fair bit of used engine oil myself, and I work for a farmer who could supply me with all I could use.
I do not want to risk ruining my engine or componets thereof, as there is no way I could afford to repair it, and buying fuel would be much cheaper than a rebuild or a new injector pump!!
