I'd have to go look but you need to hook it up to your key switch. It needs grounded(reason I'd have to go look not sure how mine is grounded)then a hot wire off the switch which turns it on and will keep pumping while the motor is running, would of course need to be a hot terminal when key is turned on. Otherwise it will run ALL the time even when parked and motor off and kill your battery.
