most one barrels on American vehicles have the same bolt pattern with varying sizes of ports. Personally my experience with the Carter Ball & ball carb has been good. They do get old and worn out though sometimes and occasionaly can't be revived.
The 80s dodges with slant 6s ran a 1 barrel holley and I think a Carter variant. they are plentiful and you can buy them at the parts stores.
