You dont mention what the temperatures are where you live but if its cool and just when cold <i would put the money on the choke second guess a mixture issue >the discolouring on the manifold indicates the heat riser valve is working ,and cross over is "open " > just a bumping up of the idle could sort it out> there are fast idle adjustments as well on the choke side of things >does it start easy when hot and stay running ?if it does just stay around the carb >wow thats a decent car you have !
