i spoke with a guy today about w-500 hubs. i dont have a w-500 truck, but i know hubs are a hot item.
the guy currently makes hubs for 2 1/2 ton army trucks. i know that there is some interchange between the mil trucks and the w-500 axle.
he can and is willing to make the hubs for the 500s if they are close.
some specs on his hubs
6 3/8 outer diameter of hub
center to center on hub mounting bolts is approx 5 1/2 inch using 1/2 inch holes
axle shaft diameter is 1 5/8 on end before flange.
16 spline shaft.
if these dimensions are close, bolt patterns, splines, gears can be changed to give you the hub you need.
i figured i'd give something back to the forum i read every day.
if someone has an old 500 hub or a 500 front flange they would like to send for a match up, let me know. the hub could be broken or rusty or whatever brand. i'll do the leg work if there is interest.... and from what i see there is. this guy has some of the orig tooling from selectro-- spec sheets too
