First Generation Cummings Question

I am trying to help a friend out with a problem he has with his 1989 Dodge with the first generation Cummings. He bought the truck brand new and has only put 79,000 miles on it. The center of the flex plate between the engine and auto tranny tore out. No one has been able to help him find a replacement the Dodge dealer says that they are no longer avalable. The disk messures 15" 3/8 and it has 172 teeth. Anybody that can help out in finding a souluton sure would be nice
