Cummins engine

Just wondering would it be possible to put a 06 Cummins into a 96 Dodge Cummins. The 06 is a automatic and the 96 is 5spd. Would the 5spd fit the 06 engine? What wiring issues would it be? Or any other issues with it. Thanks David
