First engines I tore down, first tranny I fixed, first rear end I set up, first bearings shimmed, etc,etc,etc, were all on WWII Dodges, all done in this same driveway. Of course my neighbors were all doing the same kind of stuff at home too.
Well, the trucks were considered disposable at the time though. "Ran When Parked"'s cost $75-$150 and flat tow it home, nothing to lose if you screwed something up. All while working for $1.35/hr at McDonald's.
And I didn't have the benefit of this site back then either.
