You are still getting your fuel for about half what we are paying here in Europe, and your increases are largely due to the falling Dollar value I think..
Currently I'm paying about £1.1 per litre for diesel or petrol, that's ballpark £4.50 per US gallon or $8.50 per US gallon.
You can complain now, but next time you go out to buy a vehicle, new or used, fuel type and miles per gallon is going to be a much bigger part of your buying decision.
Eventually you will all end up like us here in Europe. We drive sensible small fuel-efficient vehicles during the week, and at the weekend we raid the piggy bank and shell out a days wages to put a few gallons of petrol in one of the toys for some fun.
My Mercedes is about 125 cu in, 110 HP, turbo diesel, auto, air-con, cruise, seats five, and will still return over 50 mpg...
