I have owned 14, 3/4 ton and one ton Powerstroke pickups.All had automatic trans. I have used them to tow fairly heavily loaded landscape trailers, on our mowing/landscaping routes. I bought all of them with over 225,000 miles already on them. I put another 25,000 miles or so on each one, then sold them to other contractors. Most are still in service with over 300,000 on them now.
I never had one transmission failure, or any kind on serious engine problems. They were 1996 - 2001 models.
