george i thought a long ton was 2400 lbs a short ton 2200 > a metric ton was 2000 lbs> like at the feed store 24 one hundred pound bags for 2400 ,a long ton >then it went to 88 pound bags for 24 bags, for a short ton aprox 2200> now its 50(25 kgs) pound bags for 40 bags or a metric tonne
