paul, one of our shop mechanics has a Jetta [gack] but he does save a bundle on fuel.
When I deepfried turkeys for the station crew, he took the used oil. He gathers free cooking oil from local restaurants, filters, and then blends 70% veggie, 20% dsl, 10% kero. Burns it as you would normally, no preheaters even in -40. This cuts his fuel cost to less that 1/3 of pump price. You have a couple of 4BT cummins don't you. Of course you'd go down the road smelling like a D.F turkey.
