What Glen says is true, both are best. That said......depends on what your planning to do. If you want to weld mild steel only then a MIG would be great. You can get a spool gun on the Miller 250X MIG but they are pretty finicky and cost alot. You have to buy new liners everytime you switch as stainless and aluminum wire from mild steel are VERY sensitive to contamination.
If stainless or aluminum are in your plans then you need a TIG. TIG is alot harder to learn, MIG is very forgiving. To clutter up your mind more the MIller TIG I have will stick weld as well ;) If you have more questions just ask. I'll help if I can. Kevin
