Paul of course it's manipulated, how can you have 3 major suppliers, with refining capacity anywhere from 18 to 50 years old, all different size facilities yet they still all charge exactly the same price.
The only price difference you will ever see is 2-3 cents/L based on district demographics. Here in Sherwood Park or as we're known "Shure White Park" the price never drops, we are considered an upscale area with a higher that average income level. Districts that are of a more ethnically diverse mix, or viewed as less affluent will see 2-3 cent/L varience. The oil marketing guys view it as, "if you can afford more you'll pay more" and not squak. Time for a good lod fashioned uprising, if only I had the time.
