I completely agree on re-wiring the whole system. I also like the idea of not using the crimp connectors. I'll check into the better ones.
Here's another question: it seems to have an alternator that someone put in place of the generator... or maybe '58 came with a generator - I don't know for sure. I will be mounting a snow plow on the front and will need a little extra power to run the pump. Should I put in a stronger alternator or use an extra battery?
