The hole is 3" diameter, but could be a little tighter. I'd got for 2 7/8 if I was goung to die-grind it out from a smaller drilled hole.
It's center is: 5 3/4 up, measured perpendicular to the slanted bottom edge- not vertical.
The center is forward 20 1/4 from the forward surface of the rear post hole. Not the flange, the surface of the pocket.
Lay it out, center punch, draw the circle, and the front edge of the hole should be right near the front of the embossed surface, the top should be about 3/4" low.
