This is one of those "cut of your nose to spite your face" situations. Who is going to stop buying fuel because it's too expensive. And it probably isn't all the little guys that are causing the problems. What about the millions of gallons of fuel that are dumped in the air before a landing or dumped into the ocean when a ship breaks up or sinks? And, someone please tell me why diesel fuel, which requires less refinement to produce than gasoline, costs more than gasoline?
