When I first built my Carryall, I tried using just disk brakes with no power booster. In my opinion, in an emergency, I could not stop the Carryall in time. I did take it to the Iowa Rally and prayed no little kid ran in front of me. When I got home, I added a power booster, in my case a hydroboost unit. Now I have brakes equal to my Ram CTD. Thats my experience with disks and no booster.
