oil filters

I have been thinking about oil filters for my 230. I understand that all the oil really doesn't go through the filter all the time and that most oil is bypassed. If that is the case, why can I not just install a spin-on remote filter without the checkvalve and plumb it in. Seems like it would do the same thing and be easier and cleaner to change. Anybody have any thought or reasons why it won't work?
