Either way, the pictures will go to the intended device utilizing the clipboard or ram. Just about everything is read into active memory before being processed.
To drag and drop does the same thing. The problem I don't like about that is, the native setting might be to Move instead of Copy.
Holding the ctrl key while doing that will change the desired outcome. For my computer, dragging a group of files or folders will Move them and to copy, I have to hold the ctrl key.
I believe any drag-n-drop activity to a CDR-Drive will require the appropriate software. His might have gone FUBAR...
