A friend of mine has one of those on a home made trailer. The handle shaft is short with a longer throw and there are two speeds. The way that truck is set up it can only use low speed, but the one I have used you pull out the handle and put it in the center of the large gear where the "star" is and that is fast speed or direct. It has always been able to pull stuff on with locked brakes or flat tires but it can be a workout!
