I ran across this website link several years ago and it's still active when accessed from my favorites.
Even though the truck is being sold from Ashtebula, OH, it's from Jackson Twp. F.D. just to the West of my home town of Canton & to the North of Massillon. My cousin's husband is a Captain & career firefighter for Jackson and he remembers this truck and an identical 2nd one still in service when he first volunteered as a teenager back in the mid-70's. He remembers them being sold at auction.
Anyone who grew up in NE OH in the late 60's / early 70's will remember "Big Chuck & Little John" (and even earlier Big Chuck & Hoolihan) the Cleveland CBS TV station local celeb's mentioned in the site!!!
Is EdC still lurking on the PW Forum ... I bet he would remember!
