State Farm insures my trucks. I use their classic vehicle policy. It is $150+- a year if I am correct. They will not insure the truck if it is pieces and being restored. It has to be running. I also have my son's truck that is sitting in the side yard waiting for him to come back from Tokyo. I suspend the insurace on it when he is gone but it is still covered for damage if a tree falls on it. It is real cheap. When he come home for a week or two we activate the full policy for 30 days so he can drive, it. The reason for this is that it keeps him insured and when he travels and rents a car in the US he has insurance. It would also be difficult for him to get insurance when he come back to the US. The insurance companies do not like long breaks without insurance. They up your fees when you start again even if you have been out of the country.
