I have the same truck.I had the ujoint fail on the axle. This in turn ate the hub. The snap ring in the axle shaft locks the axle in position in relationship to the hub. With the snap ring on there is no slop in the axle shaft in and out. I got my new hub at the dodge dealership. No parts just complete hub. Be ready to bend over when you get there.
