I think what you are calling the "transmission tunnel" is what I am calling the "bell housing"? If so, and you already have the key starter, then it would seem your transmission would bolt up without any big problems. We did not have to change anything relative to the transfer case shift levers. Incidentally, my conversion was 1955 transmission into a 1948 B1PW.
