When I got my M37 engine back from the rebuilder I had to pull the fan drive pulley from the crank to install the front motor mount. Now that I've got the water pump and generator on I noticed that the drive pulley seems to be about 1/4 inch too far to the rear. The belt will not line up straight. There is very little clearance between the motor mount and the pulley. I thought maybe the pulley was on backwards, but the wide flange with the engine timing marks is to the front.
Is it possible that the machine shop pushed the hub on too far?
