Aaron,
I was over at a friends house last week, and he showed me pictures of a WC-11 that had been cut to put windows in the sides, the truck was for sale and came with the upper body of a standard panel to repair the damage.
Also if you look around you will find that there are a couple of Carryalls running around that were built as 2wd's and have '41-'47 style front sheetmetal(VPW has one).
The wheelbase of most 1/2 ton WC trucks is 116" (except the WC-9/18/27 ambulance, and the WC-20/41 closed cab which were 123") so you could take a WC-12 and put on a standard panel body.
But I don't know what (if anything) differs below the main body line between a standard panel and a WC-11.
It is possible that there are some big differences in the wheel well area, or in the firewall. But I would think that all of those problems could be overcome without too much trouble, and I would rather see a WC-12 taken and made into a panel, then watch you take an original panel and modify it heavily.
I will be at the house of my friend that has the pictures of the WC-11 with the spare roof in a couple of days, and I will find out what I can about the other it.
I may even bring back the pictures and scan them in for you.
Let me know if I can be of any assistance, I do know where there are a couple of WC closed cab pickups out west that a buddy of mine is trying to sell, and if I ask around I might be able to find a decent '39-'47 panel.
Good luck!
Eric
