I have seen plenty of the 1961-71 W500s with the 10 lug wheels, even a 1961, which is rare.
Check Don Bunn's green book at page 185, he shows a factory photo of one there.
The Wheel Bases listed for 1964 are 157 and 175, which holds true even for the Crew Cabs.
I think the 10 lug axles is just different hubs on the same front axle, though the spring packs may be heavier duty.
