When I mounted my 11r16's on one piece rims, it was very evident that the Michelin's could take a much larger shoulder ie: for a lock ring or such.
The tire place that mounted my tires, paused for a minute and asked "These are military tires aren't they?" I said yes, is there a problem. They said "well, they are built for a wider lip at the rim." I asked if it was a problem and he said "we'll find out". The bead popped onto the rim a few minutes later and he said that is a good sign. He thought it would be fine since the bead popped on with a real definite POP. His only comment was to not run the full recommended tire pressure. Even at 20psi, the tires are way to stiff and will bounce you off the road. I run about 15psi and don't worry, this is just a trail truck and I haven't had any problems in the last 3 years.
