I've seen what you can do. That took extra time and effort. Just because one body is not readily available doesn't mean there will never be another. Also, if the individual with the body places special importance to it, then maybe you should be a marriage broker and trade or sell your cab and chassis to him and get a less rare truck to use as a basis for the trail truck.
There are several utility type bodies available for the M37 wheelbase and the M56 cab and chassis wheelbase that are very similar in appearance. While these would not give a totally correct truck, you would preserve the WW II image.
