I never really thought about it, but I always braze with welding goggles on. The main thing isn't what I call the color, but rather that it be hot enough that the flux is activated and the bronze flows like water, but it doesn't burn off. Once you get it to do that, remember what color it looks like to your eyes with your welding goggles, and you'll know what to look for next time.
